The Society of American Archivists launched the I Found It In The Archives! public awareness campaign earlier this year. They reached out to individuals who have
found their records, families, heritage, and other treasures through
archival collections. They set up local contests, selected
finalists, and then encouraged their communities to vote for their
favorites.
Now their winners, including some genealogists, are part of a national competition
whose goal is to expose as many people as possible to wonderful stories
of discovery in the archives. Take a look at the six entries and vote for your favorite story. Even more important, encourage your colleagues, family, friends, donors, and users to vote by July 1.
